Sailing

Italy is famous for its beautiful sailing grounds with boats that are situated in the Mediterranean. Sometimes it’s rather difficult to find at least one birth for a boat in the summer months because of the lack of natural harbours, but everything may be corrected due to a few Italian key words and a bit of patience.

One of the most important things for sailors is the amount of wind. The wind can vary greatly because of the time of the year and the location. For example, such places as Sicily and Sardinia are defined by greater wind than the Riviera or the Bay of Naples. In general the wind in Italy is less in the summer months. It’s worth to say that the amount of motor boats in the area is relative to the amount of the sailing boats due to the Italians’ love of speed. In general beautiful Italian sceneries, clear water, delicious Italian dishes and wine compensate the lack of wind.

Horse riding

Italy is rich for beautiful areas that are suitable for horse riding. For example the Maremma area of Tuscany is famous among those who prefer horse riding or even possessing their breeds of cowboys. Golf in Italy appeared more than hundred years ago, but it hasn’t become so famous as it is in the United Kingdom or United States, where golf is played as a kind of sport and at the same time is considered to be a social medium.

Searching all kinds of sports in which Italians are the best achievers, you may think that they are only fond of fast and physicals kinds of activities. Perhaps, energetic and excitable Italians don’t want to demonstrate the patience which is required for golf. Mediterranean climate and Italian lifestyle allow people to spend much of their leisure time outdoors, to work and to eat outside. That’s why Italians don’t need to have an excuse to socialize with other people in the fresh air while playing golf, for example.

Such places as Sardinia, Trentino-Alto Adige, Piedmont and Campania are worth to be seen by all visitors of Italy.
