Hungary is a predominantly rural country of which the fifth is covered with forests. However, some of Europe’s best horse-riding, as well as delightful summer horse shows, can be found in the Great Plain and particularly around Kecskemét and the Kiskunság National Park. Memorable scenic cycling routes run along winding roads in the vineyard hills around the Badacsony. In addition, hiking paths are available across the country with stunning views over Lake Balaton in the Badacsony region.
