Overview
Kiskunság National Park is a national park located in Danube–Tisza Interfluve mainly in Bács-Kiskun county, Hungary. It was created in 1975 and declared a biosphere reserve by the UNESCO.
Description
The park covers an area of 570 km² and stretches across the Little Cumania region of the Great Hungarian Plain. Kiskunság National Park, established in 1975, consists of nine 'islands' of land totalling about 50,000 hectares. Much of the park’s alkaline ponds, dunes and grassy 'deserts' are off-limits to casual visitors.
