Regiones and Cities Events Places Activities Experience People

The Czech Republic, in the centre of Europe, is partially in Western Europe with a foot in the Slavic East due to its neighbouring countries: Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Austria.

Like much of Europe, football is a popular national sport with weekly matches taking place on Saturdays from August to November and from March to May. Another popular national sport is ice hockey. Games are televised and viewed in the bars of most towns or in stadiums in season.

You can also do several outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, rock climbing and caving in the Moravian Karst.
