The Bōsō Peninsula is a peninsula that encompasses the entirety of Chiba Prefecture on Honshu, the largest island of Japan. It forms the eastern edge of Tokyo Bay, separating it from the Pacific Ocean. The peninsula covers approximately 5,034 square.

There are two distinct Japans coexisting in one fascinating country. One is the fast-paced, packed train, high tech modern Japan. The other is ancient Japan, full of tradition, a strong sense of community, and a deep connection with the land.

Ishigaki Island is the commercial hub of the Yaeyama Islands, in Japan’s southwestern Okinawa Prefecture. It's known for beaches and sites for snorkeling, diving, and surfing.

I've visited Japan a number of times but this was my first trip to Okinawa. I'm so glad that I ventured off the main island to visit Kumejima Island.

Shirahama is a resort town on the south coast of Japan’s Wakayama prefecture. It’s known for its hot springs and quartz-sand beach. Just offshore, Engetsuto Island has a rocky, sunset-framing arch.

Tanegashima is one of the Ōsumi Islands belonging to Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. The island, 444.99 km² in area, is the second largest of the Ōsumi Islands, and has a population of 33,000 people.

Tobishima, is an inhabited island located in the Sea of Japan, administered part of Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. The island, 2.75 km² in area, had 275 inhabitants as of 2005.
