I've visited Japan a number of times but this was my first trip to Okinawa. I'm so glad that I ventured off the main island to visit Kumejima Island.

Description

On little Ōjima island, by the Tatami-Ishi rock formations, you'll find this shiny seaside bathhouse, which has a slightly European vibe. A large indoor pool with jets is filled with mineral-rich seawater, pumped up from a depth of 612m. Swimwear is required in this section of the complex, but if you're looking for a more Japanese onsen-style experience, there's a quieter, clothing-optional sauna and hot-tub area, which is refreshing after a skin-parching day in the sun.
