Ulster Way

Overview

The Ulster Way is a series of walking routes which encircles Northern Ireland. It was founded in the 1970s by Wilfrid Merydith Capper, who was inspired by Tom Stephenson's Pennine Way.

Description

The Ulster Way is a looped walk around Ulster, however for the Ireland Way you just walk the western and northern sections. Joining the Ulster Way at Belcoo in County Fermanagh you will be walking north towards the coast. You will follow the blue Ulster Way sign and yellow arrows for the rest of your journey through counties Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry and Antrim. Don't forget you will need pound sterling currency here! Accommodation is quite sparse along the western part but plentiful along the coastline from Castlerock to Ballycastle.
