Overview

Scheveningen is one of the eight districts of The Hague, Netherlands, as well as a subdistrict of that city. Scheveningen is a modern seaside resort with a long, sandy beach, an esplanade, a pier, and a lighthouse.

Description

The long sandy beach at Scheveningen attracts nine million visitors per year. Though the water and sand are clean, the beach is heavily developed, with numerous cafes elbowing each other for space on tiers of beachside promenades. The beach is popular for water sports such as windsurfing and kiteboarding.
