Rosslare

Overview

The village of Rosslare Harbour, also known as Ballygeary, grew up to serve the needs of the harbour of the same name, first developed in 1906 by the Great Western Railway and the Great Southern and Western Railway to accommodate steamferry.

Description

Busy Rosslare Harbour has connections to Wales and France from the Europort ferry terminal, home also to the Rosslare Europort train station. The road leading uphill from the harbour is the N25. There are some lovely sandy beaches in the area, in particular Rosslare Strand, make it worth spending some time here before catching your train or ferry.
