Description

Roca Loca is a powerful, right reef break that breaks off a large exposed rock at the far south end of Jaco Bay just north of Playa Hermosa. As you leave Jaco you will head up a hill with Jaco bay on your right. You can see where the bay ends and the road curves around to the left. There is a large empty area that looks like a parking lot or a viewing overlook. There is a steep path down to a small channel for your paddle to the take-off spot. This is tricky if you have not surfed there before and it is best to surf Roca Loca for the first time with someone who has been there before.

Roca Loca breaks both rights and left and is almost never crowded. It really starts to work at head high and will hold up to triple overhead.
