Arugam Bay, known locally as "Arugam Kudah", is a bay situated on the Indian Ocean in the dry zone of Sri Lanka's southeast coast, and a historic settlement of the ancient Batticaloa Territory.

Batticaloa is a major city in the Eastern Province, Sri Lanka, and its former capital. It is the administrative capital of the Batticaloa District. The city is the seat of the Eastern University of Sri Lanka and is a major commercial city.

Hikkaduwa is a popular beach resort in the south western coastal belt of Sri Lanka replete with lovely palm fringed bay beaches. Hikkaduwa beach affords ample opportunities for water sports, diving & snorkeling.

Kitulgala is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. It is in the wet zone rain forest, which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the wettest places in the country.

Matara is a major city in Sri Lanka, on the southern coast of Southern Province.

Medawatta Beach is situated in Matara. It is a beautiful sandy beach with excellent waves suitable for surfing. The area with its sandy bottom acts as a base for many surf training camps owned both by locals and foreigners.

Midigama’s not really a town actually, more a short strip of a few ramshackle surf shops, modest lodgings and restaurants lying all along a flat, busy road looking out to the waves.
