Overview
Portrush is a small seaside resort town on the north coast of County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It neighbours the resort of Portstewart.
Description
The seaside resort of Portrush (Port Rois) bursts at the seams with holidaymakers in high season and, not surprisingly, many of its attractions are focused unashamedly on good old-fashioned family fun. However, it's also one of Ireland's top surfing centres and home to the North's most prestigious golf club, host of the 2019 Open Championship. In preparation for the tournament, money has been spent on beautifying the town centre with new granite paving, benches and lighting, and renovating the train station.
