Description

Stretching for 145km and creating a natural barrier between inland and coastal Croatia, the rugged peaks of the Velebit Range are an impressive sight. Paklenica National Park takes up 95 sq km of these limestone mountains and boasts some of Croatia’s most dramatic alpine vistas. It’s a superb place to trek gorges, do a bit of climbing or just amble along one of the many streams that score the land. The park is also home to eagles, falcons, deer and bears. The Mala Paklenica Educational Center has exhibits on endangered birds of prey. Trails criss-cross the park.
