Musala; from Arabic through Ottoman Turkish: from Musalla, "near God" or "place for prayer" is the highest peak in Rila Mountain, also in Bulgaria and the entire Balkan Peninsula, standing at 2,925 metres.

Description

From Bansko you will be driven to Granchar hut by car. The hiking will start from the hut to the summit Musala (2925 m) and back to the hut with your guide. It will take about 7 - 8 hours on this shared experience. End of the tour returning to Bansko by car.



You will be picked up from your hotel in Bansko and then driven to Granchar hut by car. Ascent to the highest peak of Bulgaria – mount Musala (2925 m.), situated in Rila Mountain. Standing at 2,925m, Musala is the highest peak not only in Bulgaria, but also in the South-Eastern Europe. It rises high above Samokov valley in the North-East part of the Rila Mountains.It is the sixth European highest mountain.The alpine views of glacial lakes and ridges from the summit are amazing.Lunch will be a picnic. Afterwards you will go back to the hut with the guide, it will take about 7 - 8 hours. Your tour will end with transfer to your accommodation in Bansko.The tour is suitable for people with some mountain experience in good shape; children older than 14 years old.
