Madonie Mountains

Overview

The Madonie is one of the principal mountain ranges on the island of Sicily, located in southwestern Italy.

Description

The Madonie mountains with vine-covered peaks, thick woodland, and tucked-away villages, offer a snapshot of rural Sicilian life. San Mauro, a pretty medieval hamlet, is set 1015 meters above sea level so you can look forward to breathtaking views over the valleys below. You’ll have about an hour here to check out the old architecture and browse the little shops, before heading to a typical restaurant in the village of Karsa. Here, you’ll be introduced to some of the local specialties on a cooking show with Mrs. Rosa, before sitting down for dinner while enjoying some Sicilian music.
