Description

Isla de la Plata, Also known as the "Poor Man's Galapagos" is located 20 miles off the coast of Machalilla national park. The Island is one of the key tourist attractions because of its natural habitat as a refuge and nesting site for seabirds such as blue-footed boobies, frigates, pelicans, tropical birds, albatrosses, and sea lions. Also, it has the best Scuba diving and snorkeling in the area (to compare with Galapagos, hence the nickname “Poor Man's Galapagos”).
