Bușteni is a small mountain town in the north of Prahova County, Muntenia, Romania.

Description

Busteni is a small mountain town in the north of Prahova district,  in centre of Romania. Busteni city is nicknamed "Bucegi Gate", because from here begins the overwhelming heights and the spectacular scenery. It is located at the foot of Bucegi Mountains, with a maximum altitude of 2.505 m in the Omu Peak.



It is one of the most popular mountain resorts from Romania, offering spectacular views, plenty of vacation opportunities and activities (from skiing to hiking).



Resort Busteni is situated at an altitude of 800 m in the Bucegi Natural Park, which houses a rich population of carnivores: bear, wolf, lynx, fox, wild cat, but also chamois, carpathian stag, bats, deer, wild pigs, predatory birds: golden eagle, northern goshawk, hawk, common buzzard, kestrel red, saker falcon, peregrine falcon, asio.
