Utah Arts Festival

Overview

Your shopping bags are so full that you wish you had brought a roller cart. You duck under the shade of a large evergreen on downtown Salt Lake City's Washington Square to recount your spoils: beautiful art pieces made by some of the best artists.

Description

It’s only Thursday at the Utah Arts Festival, and your investment in supporting the arts has already put a substantial dent into the piggy bank you’ve been using to stow away money since last June. It turns out, this is exactly what you were saving for. And you're in good company: patrons spend $1 million annually on art and entertainment at the four-day festival.

The temporary avenues erected in the name of art fill up Library and Washington Squares in east Salt Lake City on this, the fourth weekend of June. The festival is easily accessible by bike or on the light rail line. The Utah Arts Festival is Utah’s longest-running summer festival. This institution is the festival highlight of summer in Salt Lake City. What’s more, celebrating its 40-year anniversary in 2016, it’s also one of the longest-running art festivals in the country.
