polar snorkeling is an experience unto itself! You do not need previous snorkeling experience to participate, however being a swimmer and comfortable in the water is an advantage.
Description
The view underwater provides a completely different perspective of Antarctica. The icebergs are amazingly deep and of the brightest blue color. If you are lucky you will see swimming penguins moving so fast you can’t believe your eyes. You may also see jellyfish, starfish and seals!
All the snorkeling gear is provided. You will be in very cold water, but wearing the provided dry suit and your warm underlayers (the same ones you use for Zodiac cruising and going ashore) will provide the needed insulation.
The snorkeling excursions are condition dependent and there is an additional cost for this optional activity. It is not offered on all ships or itineraries.
